The National Center on Deafness (NCOD) at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) proudly hosts the 4th Annual CSUN NCOD Sign n’ Run 5K ASL Festival. This event brings together a diverse community – Deaf, hard of hearing, hearing students, signers and non-signers, faculty, staff, alumni, interpreters, community, neighbors, and everyone else – to celebrate American Sign Language, Culture and Community. Included: 5K Timed Run/Walk or Stroll, exhibit booths, free official event t-shirt, and an entertainment program featuring Deaf performers. For the 5K route map on CSUN campus, check www.csun.edu/ncod.

The admission fee includes a free official event shirt, snack, water, and entertainment. Register in advance to improve your chance to get a free t-shirt in your size.

The annual Sign n’ Run event provides opportunities for hands-on student leadership development and volunteerism. It is mostly run by students. Also importantly, the event raises much needed funds for student scholarships and programs.

On March 20, come at 8 AM to register, sign an insurance waiver, and get started! For more information, email csunsignnrun@gmail.com or ncod@csun.edu. Also check the NCOD website at www.csun.edu/ncod for campus maps and periodical updates.

Parking available at Lot G3 ($6 fee) or Zelzah and Nordhoff Streets (no fee).

Since 1964, CSUN NCOD has provided full access to university programs for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. The Deaf CSUNians and the CSUN NCOD Alumni chapter help to enrich learning and linkages. The result is a unified and holistic student development experience which builds leadership skills and continues life-long.

In addition to NCOD's  academic and support programs for students, NCOD also provides information and training for service providers, professionals, families, managers and community. The NCOD Library is a precious national collection of reference books, media and publications related to the deaf community.

CSUN is also known as a sign language users community approaching 1,000 students, faculty and staff!  Programs include Deaf Education, Deaf Studies, NCOD and PEPNet 2.0.  www.csun.edu/ncod
